**Interesting Back Story to This Product:**

A certain 4th grade boy had such a bad attitude and such atrocious behaviors that he couldn't focus on his schoolwork. He intentionally, emotionally hurt other people continually - multiple times per day! With all this going on he literally didn't have time to do well in his schoolwork. It became very questionable whether he should be promoted to 5th grade or not; he wasn't really ready for it.

I recommended to his parents that he repeat 4th grade, they agreed. We knew, however, that it wouldn't work for him unless he bought into it. The parents, the boy, and I met. We explained our concern for him and our belief that he needed to repeat the grade. Then, we left the decision to him as we prayed HARD! He took several minutes deciding before finally telling us that he agreed he needed to repeat. WHEW! What a relief.

That summer I was thinking about him and realized that I had already done everything I knew to do for this child, and it hadn't worked. Yikes! "Lord God, what can I do differently? What will help turn this child around?" An idea came to my mind that he needed to be held accountable for every little thing he did - the good and the bad. $$$ even speaks to young children. Plus, teaching money sense can better prepare a child for adulthood.

I sat down at the computer and started typing in the ideas God was giving me. As I typed, more ideas came. A couple of hours later the program framework was there on my screen needing only to be fleshed out a bit. I was amazed with what God had given me.

I took the program to my banker for reviewing; she was very impressed and wished all children could have this training.

The next school year I introduced the program; the students loved earning money they could spend on real items in the classroom store. The boy's attitude and behavior hadn't changed an iota. He began to lose money. He went deep in debt. He's the only student I taught who had to take out a "loan" and take on a "second job" (school chores) in order to pay off his debt before the due date so his "collateral" didn't become the "bank's" forever property. I had talked tough with him about how these things work in the real world.

With the use of THAT'S LIFE!, that year became a turning point for this boy. Once his loan was paid off, not wanting that experience again, his attitude sweetened and his behavior greatly improved. He began earning more than he lost. He got ahead financially. He quit hurting other people; the other students became happy to include him in their games and activities. The classroom atmosphere became much more harmonious.

Years later, I attended his high school graduation. I noticed that this kid seemed to be the most popular kid on campus. Students and teachers alike made their way to him for a goodbye hug and handshake, tearful goodbyes; they would actually miss being around him! What a HUGE transformation! Praise God!!
